Galvanized Pipe’s Welding Quality Assurance Measures

But how can we assure the welding quality of pre galvanized steel pipes? Below we will have a discussion.

 

Many people believed that we can control the welding quality from five aspects:

 

1. Welder/Human

The human factor is the key point of welding quality control. Therefore, we should select skilled welders with welder certificates to carry out necessary technical training and disclosure before welding. And welders can not be replaced at will to ensure the welding quality of the pipeline relatively stable.

 

2. Welding Material

Controlled welding materials. Making sure that the purchased welding materials are from proper channels, with warranty and quality certification, in line with the process requirements. Strict control of welding electrode recycling should be released to ensure flow direction and dosage. Welding materials shall be baked in strict accordance with the process, and given out no more than half a day at a time.

 

3. Welding Machine

Welding machine. The welding machine shall be ensured with reliable performance and meet the process requirements. The welding machine must have certified current and voltmeter to ensure the correct implementation of the welding process. Welding cables should not be too long. If the cables are too long, the welding parameters should be adjusted.

 

4. Welding Method

Welding process method. Ensure the strict implementation of special operation method of galvanized pipe, carry out pre-welding groove inspection of welding process. Making control on welding process parameters and operation method. Checking appearance quality after welding, and adding non-destructive testing after welding if necessary. Control welding level and amount of welding material per opening.

 

5. Welding Environment.

Controlled welding environment. Ensure the temperature, humidity and wind speed of welding meet the process requirements.
